The detractors and mis informers are coming out of the woodwork on hobby forums.
Discussion from one such Camaro board lately in paraphrase from a single poster:
"SPI does not manufacture their own products, they relabel other companies' "
"I called SPI and they used scare tactics when I asked about using SPI epoxy with opsho or paint over rust products"
"The demonstrated superiority of SPI over any other product (including bargain basement epoxies) is debatable"
This was in a discussion of epoxy. The attack was as much on epoxy products as SPI the poster was a true believer in paint over rust products. . .the word must be getting out and it must be hitting home. My jobber asked me when I would need more paint and i told them as soon as they carried SPI primers, a reasonably priced, quality basecoat and SPI clear we could do business on paint. Remember I am a hobbyist and a guy who fixes minor rust and dents for entertainment. If they are missing my business. . .things must be pretty dang slow.
I love it and cannot wait for it to continue.
Perhaps these are isolated, anctedotal instances but interesting nonetheless!
