Rusty, would you mind taking a measurement for me ?
I would like the distance from the outside edge of the pinch weld on the bottom of the rocker panel directly below the door hinges to the same point on the other side of the car,.. Right in front of Brians knee in the picture. Thanks.

You want to know how wide it is at the pinch weld below the door hinge?

No Way!
The projects you and Brian tackle and the quality of the work is truly amazing.
Thanks for taking the time to share them with us.

I agree, i log on to look at the projects more than anything, it's nice to see what people are building.

Brian started patching the top of the right windshield post. He made a small patch panel than ground the welds

Brushed some epoxy inside before welding the next patch

I need a measurement across the width of the car from rocker panel pinch weld to rocker panel pinch weld underneath the square door hinge bolt holes.

On my project I noticed that this distance is narrower at the door post area by over an inch than the same measurement taken on the pinch weld directly in front of the rear wheel wells.

Dam this is hard to explain, lol.

Thanks.

hey, Senile if he doesn't get it for ya I'm working on 65 mustang myself and I'll try and remember to get measurement for ya tomorrow night.

I forgot to give you this yesterday sorry. It measures 55" pinch weld to pinch weld under the A pillar. You have to go over the subframe so it is not a straight measurement. We measured it behind the subframe and it was still around 55".

Brian cut out the first area he wanted to patch

Test fitting the pattern he made

I am curious as to how the epoxy seals to rusted areas? Have you ever had the chance to see if this prevents the rust from spreading?
I have been using SEM Rust Converter in those areas but it is really difficult to apply even using foam pads. The epoxy you are using seems to leave a much thicker (tougher) cover that should prevent oxygen getting to the metal.

Brian has the windshield posts and front door jamb finished. Today he sanded and epoxy primed the next step is to install the new dash.

The major bodywork is finished on the cowl. I just need to prime and block sand a couple of times. We are waiting for the apron to cowl extensions to come in than I will epoxy prime.

It may not look like it but Brian plug welded the fender apron extensions to the cowl and than I epoxy primed.
