A100 Twins

Doors fitted and hinges modified a bit for a really good fit early this morning. Am I the only one who has a conscience (recall mine is named @MP&C ) that when told I am just going to make a quick lap patch to cover the speaker hack outs because I’m going to use the fancy Sportsman Custom panels that the doors came off from the only thing my conscience says is “The definition of quality is doing what is right even if no one can see it”, Henry Ford….. so the LH door is repaired after going to town to take my sweetie to lunch and get more metal A bit of rust I found while blasting is also fixed. Ready for epoxy. The RH does not have the rust and tomorrow I’ll trim up the patch and weld it in. Then the doors are ready and there will be an epoxy party Sunday morning

Looks great!! VooDoo Ranger is great too!! What PSI are you using when blasting the door skins?

At first about 90. I beat black rust to oblivion in the fist few minutes. Then it steady states out to maybe 70 with 2 compressors going. Notice I strip it first with the razor blade so this is more of a giving it texture for epoxy. I hit it at a 45 degree angle from no closer than about 3”.

Notice no fancy tools were used or injured in the making of this patch. Used my patented English (mopar) wheel to shape some metal for the side. Spent a few hours to make a jig to hammer the seam edge where it meets the fender. Used the jig to go back and tweak the shape of the rest of the metal to fit the jig with the MOPAR shaping Wheel. Blasted all the black rust from the inside of the rocker box. Need to shape and fit the lower rear patch and weld them together before spraying epoxy primer everywhere inside the rocker. Then time to fit and weld in the patch. The dog has the right idea. I’m done.

The poor dog worked out!
I love the no-fancy tools that is engineering at its best!!
I learned a lot from this post!!

I am just trying to do better. The Dart and the Valiant both have a couple places where it’s probably pushing that where I just gave up on the metal work.

Dude I totally get it. I think you're doing a fine job. I just feel the internet and social media has given the guys who are self taught and forever learning a false sense of what reality is.

You've restored 4 cars in the front of your garage, not in your garage, in front of your damn garage with great detail!

Couple that with the keyboard commandos that really don't know shit and you can easily see where guys at home get discouraged, not saying you are, just saying in general.

But conscience (@MP&C) lurks here and on FB judging me in the background now. :p
