1963 Split Window Corvette Restomod

Thanks again for all the nice comments. I couldn't be more pleased with how this car has turned out!
The detroit speed headlamp motors are installed and functional. I cant say the same for the detroit speed wiper motor, as it seems to have a mind of its own for some reason, which will require further investigation....it turns on at random.

New tinted door and vent glass from Auto city classic is installed along with the new power window motor. One down, one to go. As per usual, the door fitment is completely different now that the components are installed and will need to be readjusted.

Shoulder belts from Corvette Central

And the ABS electric brake system if fully operational. The pump is a bit louder than I would like, but I will take the noise over the gaudy looks of a hydroboost system any day.

And looks like I am going to need to send the starter back as the case is cracked in half. Odd thing is that it still starts fine. It never made a noise and it was spaced perfectly, so I am not sure what went wrong.

A few more of the Billet Specialties valve/coil covers. The pictures really don't do them justice. They look incredible in person. Once the JBA stainless steel headers and heat sheaths are installed, the engine bay should really pop. Don't judge the wiring! I still have a good bit of organizing to do.

I borrowed a beat up original 63 console from another car and have decided to switch the car back to the original style instead of using the 64-67 console that was installed previously.

I ordered a Borla rear exhaust system for a C5 and as I suspected, it tucks up under the rear of the 63 perfectly!!!

The headers for a new generation Camaro fit perfectly in the engine bay. These are JBA units.

Wow, it looks like how Chevy would build it if they built it today.

Thanks! That was the look I was going for!

Finished decorating the LS3 by adding a carbon fiber intake cover.

Run video WARNING, no exhaust installed, so may be loud.

I still need to detail the floor pans, but other than that, the underside is finished. This is one car i will be very proud to put mirrors under!!!

Beautiful job. What is your hour count? and you said the paint shop added an additional 80hr block time right? It is a labor of love that's for sure either a love of the car or love of the job depending on where one stands but surely a love of something. Great job that's for sure.

Thanks for the comments!

I believe I have around 1200 hours in the car. More if you count the time i did doing research, etc.

A couple of videos of the car running. I took these a few weeks ago and one of the ports in the intake wasnt plugged, so the car had a massive vacuum leak, which is why it doesnt idle down quickly.

I couldn't be happier with the way the Borla mufflers sound! They are perfect for the LS3...nice rumble at idle and a modern high end sports car sound when revved. I think they sound like a Ferrari in person.

It just brings tears to my eyes, knowing that is not parked in my garage.
Just so perfectly matched up and done.
