Wanda

All done.

Is that alabaster? I think NH700M? I've had good luck with that color but when you look at it, it looks as if it could be tricky.

Yep. That was my thinking but really did well... I was more concerned about the match.

Looks good, did you pull the blend to approx 6 inches in the rear door? I can't tell if my eyes are tricking me or if it's camera etc. Not picking it apart at all, just trying to learn what I'm seeing if anything. That's got to be a tough color match but you pulled it off very nicely.

I think it is just that color and the camera. I really didn't get into the rear door. Only spot I got into the rear was on the very bottom below the bodyline. I didn't need to but made me feel better.

Matches better than the factory bumpers... LOL

factory bumpers are terrible indeed!

You did a great job on a tough match. My eye was seeing a more greenish tint over the front door. Cameras never capture correctly what the eye sees either.

I see what you are saying...up by the door handle there is no base...just clear and it looks a little different than the rear door in the pic.

You know, I just find myself and my employees when asked recommending Wanda more and more.
I bet at least 3 times a day on average.

Some die hard sikkens people you just won't convince...I suppose I'll keep drinkin the "kool-aid" and using wanda and spi. :p

kool-aid...LOL!
I am gonna try her soon just to see how she does. Thanks.

Any questions you can shoot me a pm. With any paint...there are going to be some minor quirks and adjustments here and there.

For example...one guy here didn't like that way it laid on a panel. It is a little thicker than sikkens, and doesn't necessarly lay a silky smooth as sikkens.....but the coverage is even and the metallics lay excellent...i think better than sikkens. So there are going to be trade offs....but none that hinder it IMO.

The kool aid is good!

Thanks I may shoot you one. I have shot most everything but wanda, sikkens, utech.
Most of the other major brands I am familiar with. I know they all have their own characteristics.
Deltron lays out silky smoothest for me.
I don't get hung up on the silky look too bad as long as it covers and looks right when done. I have only shot tri-stage in Deltron. Expensive but nice.

Here is another. 2nd time shooting this type color with wanda. The first was a dodge hood, code PRP. Brand new hood, panel painted and matched.

Took 3 coats for coverage on this.

I'm going to contact the closest dealer (20-25 min. depending on traffic) and see what their setup is for the Wanda. If I read correctly Wanda is reduced 2:1? I wonder what is different between bases that get reduced 2:1 and 1:1 ? I think the last base that I used calling for 2:1 was HOC. I don't know why but I prefer base that is reduced at 1:1. Also prefer base that doesn't need a special reducer like Dupont/Basemaker, way over priced for what it is.

most of the high end bases mix 2:1 like sikkens, spies, glasurit, rm.....speaking solvent here. I don't think 1:1 or 2:1 determines quality though...much like 4:1 or 2:1 or 1:1 clears. Everyone thinks 4:1 clears are just "cheapo"....but barry has explained that is just a myth and just talking points for jobbers.

I think rm has the option of going 1:1. SPI reducer works great with the wanda base.

You are right JB, being a 1:1 base vs a 2:1 base does not mean there is a difference in quality, it only means someone just made 25% more and someone just loss 25% on the deal, as solvent is cheaper the resin and tint.

As far as clears, 4:1 in past were usually the low end but there were good 4:1's also.
