This Firebird is all motobase and euro clear. Its pretty much the only base I have been using for the last few years. I really like it.

I did shoot some wanda on a small project a few weeks back and I really liked that also. The wanda was significantly cheaper, but it sprayed out really nice.

Looks nice! Yeah Wanda is cheaper but still a great base. But it’s also 2:1 vs Motobase 1:1 so you’d have to crunch the numbers to see. Unfortunately my area is dominated by ppg. And dbc is crazy $$$ these days and haven’t had the greatest luck with color matches lately. My local keystone I believe only deals axalta if I remember. Many people say they carry Wanda but mine doesn’t I guess. Have you had to do any collision jobs with Motobase? I’m getting ready to spray a few salvage rebuilds soon and I’m going to order prospray. Figure it’s gotta be at least as blendable as dbc but cheaper $$$. Just curious if you had and experience with color matches.

I have no experience with Prospray, but, that is the brand that Shine had to peel off in sheets on one of his projects.

Yeah I recall that. I have no intentions on using prospray. I’m going to order Motobase. If I had a jobber local for Wanda I’d be using that for these cheaper jobs.

Edit: I’m sorry I realize I said prospray at the end of my post. I meant to say Motobase as I was talking about in the beginning. Oops.

I thought I was going crazy(er).

With that blue that was on the sled, even at 2:1 the wanda was by far a better bargin. But I am not to the point where I would use it on a complete. Motobase sprays and lays out really nice and is till very affordable. DBC and Chromabase is all I have local to me and the prices are just disgusting. I can get my basecoats from Chad and its on my porch the next day!

I don't generally do repairs anymore, more just overalls and custom stuff, but my buddy Kevin owns a shop about an hour from me and he strictly uses motobase in his shop and has been for years. I know he is very happy with the product.

Ok great, thanks a bunch just what I wanted to hear. I figured it would at least be blendable, and you gotta blend everything these days anyhow. I’m not even crazy about spraying dbc and the price is horrible. And I’m not spraying Omni. I keep debating getting a mixing bench. But for now…Gonna have to give Chad a call.

Sharpened up the bodylines some and final primed the rear bumper cover. Hoping to have this shell painted maybe next weekend, but baseball has started so that's eating up a lot of time right now.

Looking back at this rear cover, what a mess of a part.. It does state on the box it came in that it requires some fitment, but........
