Knock Off Copy of a Sata 4000 RP Spray Gun?

I'm not sure that is a knockoff. Looks to be the real thing and only problem I see is the 1.7 tip, I'm not so sure a 1.7 in the 4000 RP will spray a 2K primer well, it may but to me the 1.4 on that gun slows the clear down more then the 2000RP or the 3000RP.
If it is the real thing, it will end up going for 500 or more at the last minute.
 
Glad to here your thoughts on this gun, Barry! I have never seen a SATA' like this one. Why does it look so different than the regular type of SATA we usually see? Now I am curious to watch this auction through to the end, just to see what happens with it. I guess I just assumed it had to be a knock off as I have never seen a SATA look like this one. I guess i am always learning, which is a GOOD THING.
 
if i remember correctly i think that is a first or second generation.
you gotta remember the first ferrari didnt look like a ferrari from today lol
 
also take note that SATA marks their gun with commas
ex. they would use 1,7 not 1.7
 
i dont know what it is but i wouldn't have it. look at the front view of the cap. piss poor machining and the holes are even off .
 
I saw that too, Shine! lol If that would be a first copy of a 4000RP, I would have to pass, as it looks like they went backwards even from the 3000RP models. None of the guns I saw on the sata website link looked like the gun being sold on ebay, at least to me.

I would put my $.02 on that being a chinese junker someone stenciled a name on and is trying to rip someone else off.
As Shine points out, the machine work is terrrible on the air cap.
The seller gives a piss poor description and just happens to not have the paper work for a "brand new" item.
 
I must have been sleeping when I seen the auction on this gun. It's also a siphon feed gun, and none of the lettering is anything like the genuine SATA'S I have ever seen.
 
He could not get away with a fake Sata, that says Sata on it, as Sata would have been all over him.
Either the gun is legit and is set up for a pressure pot or it is sold overseas and he has imported through the back door.
My best guess.

I had a hard time finding this gun. All of the name brand guns have the manufacturer name cast into the handle. I can't find any brand name guns that have blank handles like this one.

Sooo... I Googled 'no-name siphon feed spray gun' and one of the hits was this beauty:

It retails for $29.99 with the cup and is on sale right now for only $24.99. It has the '4001' designation cast into the handle but the black lettering is missing. The cap looks different so that may have come from the scammer's collection of junk.

It's a Harbor Freight gun. I'm guessing the "Sata" lettering is printed vinyl. If you do want the HF gun, here's the link:

LMFAO -- I think this one would stand up better. Those gravity feed targets fall over so easy....
 
he must have ran out of lower case "t"s its spelled saTa on the gun lol
