No problem, I blasted the metal to metal and epoxy down to bare metal. Im going to touch up the welds where I can see some flaws. The butt joint (8 feet of it), looks pretty awesome. I never even had to use metal to metal in it. The 8 Feet of weld where I closed the upper stock body seam by welding in a rod is the problem area and that had some voids. The voids were where I did not get the spots overlapped enough. Just a matter of going back and finishing what I started. I filled the seam with a 16" rod and welded over it. I know I am going to have thicker metal in that seam so I may have "ghosting" thru the paint. I wanted to do this project in gloss black, which is the worst possible choice I could make. If at some point in time I can not live with the seam ghosting, I will have to cut the seam out and do a patch with two 8' butt welds opposed to one weld using filler rod and having a thicker metal in that area. Lot of good feedback in this post and I appreciate every bit of it.
