Auto Rod Tech's Project Thread

That blue really pops, most people would of played it safe and just used black like the rest of lettering.

I love outside the box. acbef8_0e26f3a205a30a4d1461407ed766217a.jpeg

Great work Chad.

Thanks, I really do like the blue to.. I was actually thinking about doing the whole truck in that color or something similar.
Only downside is that now I need to change out the red, brake calipers, the valve covers.. now that it's this far I'm going to do just one thing at a time so I can get back to my normal routine..
I did however almost do it in red to match the valve covers and calipers, but it seems I always have to do things the most difficult way possible.. lol..

I'll have to try to remember to get a picture of the hood installed tomorrow. I need to put a bumper on a ford and then we are putting the hood on.. I buffed it today and it looks even better.

Finished up the hood and installed it today.
Pretty happy with the outcome.

I also ordered a custom emblem. Which I think turned out great, but I don't think it fits the truck so I need to get something else in place of this.

I also was able to get my parking signature..

it's been a pretty fun project, hopefully more progress to come . :) I think I may have had a thread on it somewhere in here.

Modified the cross members for the exhaust.. I can't start building the exhaust yet due to needing a drive shaft built which will dictate the cross member height. We need a 2-piece drive shaft so we have to get the angles set before the exhaust is built.. But we are trying to get as prepared as we can.

Are you going straight out to a carrier, then down?

What are those rubber isolators from for the exhaust? Never seen or heard of anything like that. Love it. So clean.

You can get them at summit racing,, just a stock hanger for something.. I got these from Holohan,, he cuts the stainless to fit the pipe...
I did something similar on my SRT but I didn't buy the stainless cut from him, I cut my own but stainless is so much harder to work with than mild I decided to buy this batch from him.. Glad I did so, turned out much better..
