Make sure to post some of the finished product, looks like the paint went on well.

That's coming along real nice. Gonna look great when your done.
I think the SPI red is a perfect choice for your car. I have a gallon sitting on the shelf waiting for the right project. LOL

The cut and buff takes forever doesn't it?
I would really like to know how long the pros figure for a complete cut and buff? Its the one big area where I lose my shirt on jobs. LOL

That's for damn sure!!!! It surely isn't easy and definately does take forever! I figure just in that quarter alone I have 5+ hours!

The car looks great!

I talk to a lot of shops that figure 40 hours on a show or restroration and i can see that.

That makes me feel better. I thought I was just abnormally slow. LOL

Well unfortunately I need you guys wealth of knowledge!!! I have had a dumb ass attack and had a sand thru about 1.5" long and 1/4" high directly on the body line directly beneath the quarter window!!! It is noticeable to me even though I don't think you can see it in the photo.... how should I attempt to fix this if at all..... :(

I had someone very similiar happen to me a few years back on a red mustang. I ended up reshoooting the whole back have the car again. Sucked for sure but I didnt feel right melting the edge of the clear on a nice car like that.

I would do a spot paint over the cut through and blend out the clear, done right the repair area won't be that large and being the job is fresh the success rate goes way up, I haven't had a failure in many years. The proceedure has been discussed here a few times. You may not even need to shoot any color, does it show when wet?

Thanks Bob! the spot does show... I have the remainder of the shell sanded down with 400 wet..... I will then hit it with 600 or 800 on the DA with the soft interface... hopefully get her taped off tonight spot in the base before bed and then back to the universal in the morning...I keep telling myself the job WILL be nicer in the end!! :)
