1978 Mustang II

What ever came about with this build? I would love to see the finished product. Excellent build. Long time fan of the forgotten years of the Mustang II

I would love to see it finished and driving it. This was taken today. Not forgotten just on hold. I thought I had a good 302 engine that had been rebuilt but it wasn't any good. It was already .030 over and the cylinder walls had a few deep scratches along with the crank valves were stuck in the heads so not much is usable. My wife wants me to get the SPI red coupe finished first.

The engine looked great until we took it apart and found the machine work was not done properly and is mostly junk. We have decided to rebuild the original engine.

I'm not finished making all the brake lines.

I went to the 5th annual Mustang II show hosted by the NE Mustang Club held at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds very close to Blairsville the home of SPI. I wanted to stop by SPI but there wasn't enough time. Logan who answers the phone came by and also Andy and Brian Kives stopped by and introduced themselves. It was great meeting them. The Mustang II wasn't finished and had no engine or transmission but it was a hit because ot that bright SPI Orange paint.

Nice work, it takes me back. I had one when I was in my early twenties, Tomato Red, I put a 289 from a road racer in it, wild cam and a 750 Holley double pumper. As they say, it would pass anything but a gas station. I’d all but forgotten about that car. You do great work!
