1969 Mustang Mach 1

In 1980, when I was in Highschool, I had a class in Davis, CA. It's a college town.
Mustangs were more commonly seen back then.
I fell for the Mustang in Jr High.
But the first time I saw the 69 Fastback, I was awe-struck.

Anyway,
you'd see these 69's and 70's cruising around Davis quite often. Every time I saw one, I'd actually almost cry with desire because of the beauty of it.

Never owned one.
Never even rode in one. :(
Nope, never even sat in a 69, or 70.

But after high-school, one of my best friends had a 67 Fastback - Gorgeous Blue with Centerlines -and we cruised in that almost every weekend. That thing sure attracted the girls.

Ahhhh, Memories. :)

Yes, Your 69 is absolutely beautiful.

Finished buffing the body out. Hope to have this beast fired up in the next week or so. Now time to get the other parts buffed and finish assembly.

I think your customer should like it even if it doesn't run. Looks awesome.

LOL, it looks like you could dip your hand in the top of that quarter panel! Very nice!

Needs some fine tuning and timing. Exhaust is next...almost dont wanna run exhaust..sounds nasty. Sound in video isn't the greatest though...dont know about you guys but when I hear this thing run it is like love at first sight. LOL

Grill assembly in and headlight buckets. Side scoops installed. Wiper motor and arms.

Beautiful! Wow, I love the body panel fit and how pure the reflections are. Very nice.

Jeremy, please switch the "C" pillar horse emblems to the opposite sides before you get much further. The horses run to the front of the car. :)

LOL! I noticed that as I was uploading pics. Good thing they aren't clipped down all the way. The customer came by today to look at it....he wasn't sure whether or not he would like them on the car. I gave him the deer in the headlight look...then threw them on there so he could see. He's going to go with them......even if he decided he didn't like them, they were going on anyway!

Been a while since I updated. It is ready for the muffler shop tomorrow. About to wrap this project up!

Looks fantastic ! Do you remember what size tires the customer went with ? Did you have to mod or open up the hood for any engine clearance ?

275/40/18 in rear, 245/40/18 front. No on the hood. Previously when restored, the rubber coupling on the intake tube to the carb was rubbing the hood and rubbed a spot in it. This go around (now that everything is aligned properly) it fits fine.
