1966 Valiant for the Other Daughter....

Ready for some welding... The front is not a gap it is the shape is not right so it is setting behind the original. Once flush it is a perfect fit.

Impressive job, Jim.

Will you have access to planish the entire welded seam? Also I am a little confused with MP&C said about planishing each weld dot. Is he saying to make a weld dot, planish, then make another weld dot, planish etc etc for the entire seam?

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen. It looks factory... A long ground wire from the blower motor to the body where the kick panel is... I needed to do a bit of blending where I fixed the inner fender. That said I would need to shoot it with epoxy before welding on the quarter panel, that said if I was going to get the paint gun out lets make it worth the effort, that said I decided to blast a few spots so I could epoxy them, that said once you get all the crap out and get dirty screw it just keep going till dinner time....

Oh and don't get SPI epoxy overspray were you want to blast later... good grief that stuff comes off hard...

Interesting, you'd think it would be grounded to the firewall. Thanks for the reply above, I fully understand now. Your new media blaster looks like it's working pretty good. Out of curiosity, are you using all of the old wiring harnesses, or building new ones?

New factory correct from Year One (M&H). Year One is the exclusive distributor for MOPAR harnesses from them.

Lucky stiff, you seem to pick mopars that you can get parts for. If you want to pull you hair out, try finding parts for 2nd generation Barracuda's, lol

This is a one year only! The Dart was just as bad. What do you need? It’s all about contacts in the A Body world! They would have harnesses for that. The dash harness will give you a heart attack but worth it in my opinion.

What do you need? I have my supply chain figured out. :)

@dhutton01 just because I said my blaster does not plug it was working poorly today. Come to find out the Marine was keeping me honest. He got sucked down and and was plugging the intake. The second bucket of media flowed much faster and cut much better. I wondered where he went…..

I'm laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes, you kill me....lmao !!!

I have a few things I've been looking for. I'll shoot you a PM in a few days.
Thanks, Jim

I should be welding in the quarter but when you get a wild hair and want to blast, use it... I tried the 50 grit on the air tool... waist of time. The wire brush can get a lot of it off and the scratches it puts in will allow the blaster to attach it faster so it is will worth this pre-step in these nasty rusty areas with lots of sealer (the blaster won't touch the sealer)....

This car has had at least 2 or 3 sets of wrong buckets in it. I never knew there were special "bench seat plugs" for these old cars that got buckets.

Hard to find the right response for this reply to your blasting the floorboards post... Don't think it's worth a reply...

I do por-15 right on top of the rust without sandblasting. Obviously clean off all flakey shit. POR-15 sticks better to rust than clean metal.
