1941 chrysler coupe build

Nice work as always Pugsy. How did you radius the weld bead at the pod and plate?

Here's the set up on my angle grinder.
A grade 8, x 1/4" bolt, head cut off with a nut bottomed out. A backing plate I made on the lathe, a fender washer and another nut.

Why I left this mess on the the door skin flange, I have no idea.

Cut it off and add a flat strip. Also, since the body was bolted to the frame, it gave a chance to do the plug welds around the whole flange.

Followed by SPI epoxy of course. I hit the arse end at the same time and screwed the lights on for a peak.

Have I mentioned in this thread that I made a mistake? No, good.....first one to show.

The hood opening is off by a mile. I used the old hood for reference. A straight line in the rim of the opening is way off.

The rod in the first pic is following the doors for a smooth arc to the hood. Obviously, the bottom rim of the hood will hit the raised rim and it needs to move over.

Here's the ridiculous thing I was following. Chunks of original hood along with nose piece I added.

The hood will look similar to a Willys.

New pieces being made up to "move" the engine compartment opening.
