I want to use my Devilbiss Finishline 4 for clearcoating my Vette and the SPI guidelines call for a 1.4 nozzle, but it only comes with a 1.3 or a 1.5, which should I use?
I have a Finishline 4 and haven't noticed much of a difference
between the 1.3 and 1.5.
It's more in your gun adjustment and how you spray really.
But I will say that the Finishline 4 sprays base better than any
gun I have used.
Actually I have a Finishline 1, a 3, and a 4, all with the HVLP setup and also the conventional aircap (the no. 1) that cuts their air consumption quite a bit, but you get less transfer efficiency. I think they spray fairly well, but everyone and their circumstances are different.Huh, that's interesting. I have a finishline 4 that I only use use for epoxy. The 1.3 and 1.8 tips have never been on the gun. I always thought it was a clunky, air hog fit only to be a primer gun. Maybe I should give it a try with base? Hmmmm
