1.3 OR 1.5 nozzle size for Universal Clear?

I want to use my Devilbiss Finishline 4 for clearcoating my Vette and the SPI guidelines call for a 1.4 nozzle, but it only comes with a 1.3 or a 1.5, which should I use?

On the Facebook page, John Stevens said that the 1.4 was based on the conditions found in Georgia. I'm in Illinois and use the 1.3 and get good results. As Summer comes on, I may have to move up a size. Start with the 1.3 and see how it goes.

Thanks guys, I'm thinking maybe the Euro clear is a better fit for me because I can come up with a viscosity that suits me better by diluting the mix.

I have a Finishline 4 and haven't noticed much of a difference
between the 1.3 and 1.5.
It's more in your gun adjustment and how you spray really.
But I will say that the Finishline 4 sprays base better than any
gun I have used.

Huh, that's interesting. I have a finishline 4 that I only use use for epoxy. The 1.3 and 1.8 tips have never been on the gun. I always thought it was a clunky, air hog fit only to be a primer gun. Maybe I should give it a try with base? Hmmmm

Actually I have a Finishline 1, a 3, and a 4, all with the HVLP setup and also the conventional aircap (the no. 1) that cuts their air consumption quite a bit, but you get less transfer efficiency. I think they spray fairly well, but everyone and their circumstances are different.
