    using Holdtight

    I have some fiberglass parts soda blasted and will blow them off with compressed air, then wash with water and holdtight. For anyone that has used Holdtight, how did you apply it into the water stream when pressure washing? Instructions say to use it at about a 100:1 ratio.

    metal patio furniture resto

    I have this metal patio furniture set with the paint pealing off. The cheap metal is also dusting, so not sure how to prep/ paint it. I guess I could have it powder coated but would probably cost a fortune. Or maybe have it media blasted with a low aggressive media then epoxy? Has anyone...

    Metal Halide lamp LED replacement

    Well, after painting 9 cars in my garage and dodging neighbors and the police I finally found a professional spray booth to use. It was an old autobody shop that a retired gentlemen bought to use as a hoppy shop for his old card and race cars. It has a Spraybake paint booth that he had...

    Barry's $700k hot rod

    Barry was showing off his $700,000 hot rod in the Roadstershop display. I think more time was spent on body and paint than I spend on a whole build. Absolutely stunning, flawless, perfection. Incredible workmanship. I'm going to up my game for my next sleds. Oh, this is Barry...

    paint spray filtering

    I'm trying to transition from a backyard hack to a front yard hack. I have available to me some space in an industrial complex. I'll be neighboring with other tenants in the building and residential across the street. I can foresee making a simple walled off area or "tent" in which to spray...

    Substitute for PPG 894

    I'm having a shop base and clear my next car. The shop uses PPG Global 894. Ideally I want and SPI clear that sprays similar to the 894 so the painter doesn't have a big learning curve. I probably don't want to use Universal as its too soft for me to cut and buff (I'm just not good with the...

    engine block painting

    I want to keep the surface of an aluminum engine block (LS3) from oxidizing and I want it to be silver. I can spray a coat or two of epoxy, but can anyone recommend a silver paint to use as the topcoat?

    touch up paint container

    How do you guys supply touch up paint for a car? The car is SPI black with euro, so I could supply the basecoat and they would have to figure something out for the clear. Or, maybe refer them to an already available touch up paint for a regular production car? What non-metallic black would be...

    using guide coat

    So I bought some white Merka guide coat to help in the cutting/buffing of my black car. I applied it to a panel that was wet sanded with 800 grit. I worked it into the panel real good to the point of not being able to wipe the guide coat off with my dry hand. I proceeded to wet sand with 1000...

    '66 vette restomod - dark red

    I've been working on this car since last winter and finally got it painted. SPI Dark red over white epoxy. I did all the body work in white epoxy and think I won't do that again since its so difficult to see the imperfections. I wanted a white under coat to give the red more pop, but think...

    I dragged this car home on a small trailer as you can see. Everything on the birdcage is new except for the hinge pillars and top cross bar of the windshield frame. Just took it one step at a time. Art Morrison chassis, Blue Print Engines LS3 530 HP, 4L70E, Schott wheels, and custom interior...

    black base/euro vs. SS black

    Which is a deeper black, black base/euro or SS black? or no difference? Which will give a higher shine after cut and buff? or no difference? I just sprayed this over the weekend, black base/euro and love the look. I'd like the simplicity of SS, but don't to give up the deep black and gloss level.
