76 K5 Blazer

Looks like the same gun. Just unsure which air cap is included. Most likely silver which is what I use for clear.

Don
Does this mean you use some other cap for base? I used to used the purple cap but it was too finicky for my taste.

I used to use the purple cap for metallics until I learned here that is difficult to use. :) Now I use an orange cap for metallic base. Solid base could be silver or orange.

Yes, but it doesn't include the cup.
It has the 1.4 Silver Cap from what I can tell by the review posts.
I have used it for Epoxy Primer, Base and Clear on a lot of jobs.

Bought mine used off eBay years ago for $200. Gave it a thorough cleaning and it has been a great gun. A few years back, I put new seals in it.
Description says 700 ml cup.

The Amazon link was no cup, which was a few dollars more than the Summit with the cup. I went with Summit since I try not to enrich Amazon anymore than I have to, and in this case saved a few bucks and ended up with a cup I won't use. I also bought the dekups adapter from Summit.

I have the Dekups also but like having the cup on hand just in case somebody forgets to reorder DeKups supplies.

Today I reaffirmed my backyard hack status and used my Sata 2.5 nozzle poly gun to spray Universal instead of my Sata 5500. :D. I was able to figure out what was going on before going too far. Used masking tape to pull most of the runs. Should be plenty of material to cut and buff. :D. I just hope it doesn’t solvent pop on me.

Don

I have found that solvent pop in Universal gives a beautiful sparkle effect when the sun hits it just right.... I would charge extra for that.

LPH400 LV with a 1.4. 2.5 turns out fluid. Skooch less than full fan. 26-28 psi. 50% overlap. Slow activator. 1 ounce of retarder per sprayable quart on last coat. And some good luck…

All learned from others on this site.

Gotta love the lph…old faithful! I’ll always have a few in my cabinet. Although I always like to try new things so I have many other guns. Some I keep. Some don’t make the cut and get sold.

Moving along. Holley midmount accessory drive for a SBC. Custom rear seat to match the TMI bucket seats. Custom rear side panels to match the TMI door panels. The original side panels were toast so I made new ones out of fiberglass shower board. Hope to drop the body on the frame tomorrow.

Going with Holley EFI with a 6th Gen Camaro fuel pump module controlled by a Vaporworx controller. Modified the stock fuel tank to accept the fuel module.

Dropped the body on the frame today. Always a butt puckerin experience.

I see you have the body strapped down to the lift (thank goodness) In my youthful younger days I bypassed that little step when I lifted the Barracuda body to roll my engine under the car. Once I got the car to the height I needed on the two post lift, and when the lift stopped, it rocked the car front to back. I grabbed the front of the radiator support and with all my body weight was lifted off the ground holding the car from falling backwards off the lift. Thank goodness my screams for help didn't fall on deaf ears. Now I strap a car down anytime I use a two post lift.

How long did it take to maneuver the chassis into its finial position? I'm going to say at least an hour?

Let me know how that Holley EFI system works for you.
Thinking seriously of putting an EFI performance system on my GTX.
I put the holly system on the 312 57 bird 2 years ago and short of years ago changed the Fordomatic out for an AOD best money ever spent on that car.
Not cheap but it makes such a big difference in performance and no stalling and gas mileage that I could care less about it.

Facts.
New car came with.
4bbl holly
Fordomatic
310 9 inch.
10 to 13 mpg.

AOD and 356 rear.
18 mpg sometimes high as 20.

Add fuel injection.
24 to 26 mpg
Acts like I added 25 hp.

The Blazer shell is unbalanced because of the lift points so straps were needed. I usually use straps when lifting body shells. It took about 15 minutes to get it dropped and lined up. The wheel dollies make it easy. The lift also makes removal from the rotisserie easy. I can’t imagine doing this work without a lift.

Thanks Barry, that gives me so peace about going that way.

When I built my signature car, the engine was built to put out 500+ HP. That's not a lot, since stock from the factory the 440 high performance motor boasted 375 hp.

The trouble I had was getting the thing tuned properly. It ran good but I knew there was a whole lot more there and just couldn't get it out.

So my thinking this time is to let a computer do the tuning.

The self tuning software will only get you so far. If you want every last bit of performance manual tuning is needed. I download logs to a remote tuner who can optimize the tune on the car remotely from his house in Kansas.
