There are some good guys there with a lot of knowledge about falcons. I have a 63 ranchero that lead me to the site.
I know most of the users are good guys, they just don't know shit from shinola and are being led down the wrong road at times, roads I have travelled because I was told wrong, didn't ask, or thought I knew.
The funniest part of this is Earl just hopped in with his negative posting, he was never part of the discussion.
Yes Earl is using what we all know are improper techniques and waste of money products, tat is his right.
What isn't his right is to tell others it is the way to do it and fu*& up their project too.
Think Earl maybe is like a lot of us, shallow pockets and big ideas.
Think he thought he was building a structure big enough to work in, then found it wasn't and chose a fast and inexpensive way to get outta the weather.
For all I know the addition he built may have occupied the maximum footage allowed by zoning.
I try to always give a guy the benefit of the doubt, especially when I don't have the facts.
I built my shop in my backyard in the mid 90's. Zoning only allowed 1 detached structure, my wallet only allowed so many sq ft of floorspace. Zoning had crazy setbacks too.
Fast forward 2011. Zoning has changed now I can have as many structures as I want as long as they don't occupy more than 15% of my lot size. What do I do, add 8 more feet on the back of the shop . Next I build (still in the process) another building 16 x28 on the other side of the yard. Sometimes a guy has to do what he has to do, even if it isn't a huge building with blasting areas, paint booth, clean room and 40 acres surrounding it like Shines!
Sorry for the ramblings, just how I feel about things like this.
Like I told a friend one time, I can't judge another, cuz I can't walk on water
Guys like the bunch on here are a great resource and I appreciate all the knowledge you all share. I hope I can contribute at times and be helpful to.
My background is 40 years of millwright/pipefitter/welder/waste water treatment for an occupation and messed with painting since I was 12. I can prolly be or more help with the shop mechanical systems than paint finish systems. TFFN.NET has proven to me that I know nothing about paint "systems" ROFLMAO .
