It really depends how slick it is to start with. I started with 1500 on the black "hay hauler" but it came out super nice, no wave, minimal peel, definitely better than normal. The good thing about the 1000 or 1200 dry is you can see what you're doing. It is easier to be careful. As Jim said, starting with 1500 will burn up a lot of paper, but if you just sanded most of the texture out with 1000 or 1200, you could finish getting it flat with 1500 and save some time and material.Would 1500 be okay for orange peel and nib removal? I know it will take longer but I just want to be careful.
