What DA DO YOU USE FOR SANDING CLEAR

typically to cut clear flat your at 1000. yellow film has a range of 800-1500 i think. my process is 1000 yellow dry, pink assilex wet, 3000 trizaxt, 8000 trizact. pink assilex is 1500

I pretty much follow Jim's advice to the letter. The only thing I do differently is 1200 dry after the 1000. Sometimes the 1000 scratches come back to haunt me and the 1200 eliminates that problem. I sand 75% of the peel out with the 1000, then finish getting it flat with the 1200. The Eagle products are awesome. They have job packs on Amazon if you just need enough for 1 job, or just want to try it.

i agree texas. i jump to the pink after 1000 but you cant quickly go over the surface. you need to go slow and take your time with it to get the 1000 out.

if its not real peely then 1500 yellow film does work but you are really going to burn through alot of discs. i have done it plenty of times on jobs where the clear really flows out nice.

Would 1500 be okay for orange peel and nib removal? I know it will take longer but I just want to be careful.
It really depends how slick it is to start with. I started with 1500 on the black "hay hauler" but it came out super nice, no wave, minimal peel, definitely better than normal. The good thing about the 1000 or 1200 dry is you can see what you're doing. It is easier to be careful. As Jim said, starting with 1500 will burn up a lot of paper, but if you just sanded most of the texture out with 1000 or 1200, you could finish getting it flat with 1500 and save some time and material.
