Universal Clear re-coat

The Perfect paint job indicates that up until 2 Weeks after spraying you can wet sand with 600-800 and then re-coat. Is it possible to re-coat just the clear after 2 weeks?

The question is a little confusing but I think? you are asking if you shot say 2 or 4 coats of clear, can you wets sand and reclear? The answer is yes be it the next day or a month later.
If you break through the clear you will need to spot that part in with base first.

Thanks Barry, the first part of your answer was the answer to my question. If I clear and decide after wet sanding I want to add coats later. I was not referencing a burn through.

Due to business trips, I sometimes get started, lay down the clear, start wet sanding and don't have time to lay down more clear if needed. I was worried about taking more than two weeks.

Time is no issue on the re-clearing.

Does clearcoat have to go on 'fresh' sanding scratches, kinda like basecoat on primer?

Or can he sand and leave it for say a month and come back and just clean the surface and reclear?

Every time I have done flow coating it has been on fresh prep work, so I have no clue.

I think everything else being equal you want to re-clear on "fresh" sanding. I know in the tech manual that it advise on some primers to re-sand if a certain amount of time passes between sanding and shooting more product. Some clears have a degree of "self-healing" to them.

Fresh is allways the best bet.
