Is there a standard reduction amount for the epoxy sealer? Do most people do 1:1:1? If not, I have read 50% reduced, would that be 1:1: .5?
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
I've been liking 1:1:1 as a sealer.. However, that's typically just to make it all uniform, and it's over sanded 2k primer. I consider it to be more of a adhesion coat for the basecoat. I may try thickening it up a little on my next one.Barry said:It is all over the board here, most people I talk to reduce from 5% to 25% but production shops do like the 50% addition as it speeds up dry time and some do a 100%.
What ever works best for you, I just like it un-reduced for first coat of bare metal.

just shoot your sealer over those small sand throughs and don't sweat it, anything coin sized I spot coat over those areas first then come back with a full sealer coat over everything.Stang Guy said:Thanks for the advice everyone. If I have some small 1/16 to 1/8 inch areas where I sand through the original epoxy primer, do you recommend re-epoxy priming those areas before sealing? Or will the sealer adhere to the really small areas of bare metal?
Thanks again!
