this makes me wonder!

There are many ways to do the same thing. Some poeple are just used to what they use and you cant change that no matter what you say. I dont even pay attention to that kind of stuff anymore. This shit isnt rocket science. Its about patience and practice. Trust a product line, learn it and stick with it.

Oh i agree with you more than one way to skin a cat!
just some of the statements and instructions make me go oh boy!

like Acid etch before Epoxy,LOL!!!

It isn't rocket science, and there are more "technical advisors" for paint and body work on the net, than people that can actually do the work. Most think it is rocket science, which is why they are on the net writing paragraphs rather than doing it for a living.

I've had a customer or two that would come in and quiz me on how i'm doing things because they get on the net and read stuff on forums like that. I tell em, sure I'll do it the way you are reading, but triple the labor rate, 50% mark up over retail on materials and NO guarantee. LOL. Of course I'm joking, but they usually get the picture.

If you beat yourself up about the BS flying around the net you'll go insane. It will exist as long as the internet exists...more than likey get worse.

please do not bring the wannabe bullshit from sites like those here. this is a professional site and there is no room for infomercial bullshit written by part time experts. you want to talk about inferior products or snake oils please do it there. any fool that thinks ncp is better than epoxy has little to no experience in this field. this is why so many painters have stopped posting here.

Well, I think we ought to be able to make fun of them from time to time, don't you? I don't think anyone here agrees with any of that BS.

Maybe it can't hurt to be reminded what we are up against once in a while. To read those guys plugging junk as if it was God's gift is really something else.

I hope they are getting something for making those PPG advertisements, lol

I spend some time on that site for the engine info there but I can see there body section needs some help!

This is pretty much the only site I will go to for body & paint advice.

i am shaking my head at your post!
i only posted this b/c of the fun nature that is it.

i also posted this is the other section not a Main Tech area.

if you find no Humor in it then that is .02.

i personally think it is Hilarious to say the least, lol!!

like Crash said it just reminds me what we up against.

you have no idea how many times i have written up a article just to delete it after im done.
b/c it will not make a difference.

Travis

I read the whole thing and got to the part of acid etch primer under the epoxy and the non iso primer and first thing that come to my mind is that guy never in his life turned out a show job or if he did with that procedure, it did not look like a show job six months later.

It reminded me of posts I've seen that state they used the trailer supply $20 a gallon enamel and the red still looks like the day it was painted ten years ago, some things you just know are BS from the start.

It was good entertainment!
