Even Barry posted in another thread that he doesn't get peel or trash and STILL puts in 10-12 hours hand blocking clear.Looks great!
I have that dream, shooting clear glass that doesn't need any cutting or buffing.
From what I've read, that exists in the land of leprechauns and unicorns.
But I'll keep chasing it!
......Thanks to Chris, Texas, Jim and all the other pros who share their knowledge and experience with us backyard painters.........

The color definitely makes a difference as to the appearance as well. I have sprayed a few driver vehicles that didn't get cut and buffed due to money. However, once your eyes have seen a proper cut and buffed painted job, they are never satisfied with less than perfection.Looks great!

I shot the doors with the body but no room for the hood in my booth. It’s only 24’ long if I remember right. Car was final body worked with the doors installed sitting on the frame. Early work was done with the body on a jig.Nice Job! Love the color too.
Don, I see a door hanging in one picture, do you shoot both doors and hood in the booth at the same time you shoot the rest of the car?
Do you do the body work with everything installed on the car and then disassemble?
Thanks Don! Can’t wait to see this ride put together! Good luckI shot the doors with the body but no room for the hood in my booth. It’s only 24’ long if I remember right. Car was final body worked with the doors installed sitting on the frame. Early work was done with the body on a jig.
Shooting base on the hood and headlight doors etc this afternoon. Fingers crossed….

Ya I bought it 6 years ago on ebay for $7500 if I remember right. It gets a lot of use and has been worth every penny. Took a friend and I roughly a week to assemble it. It is sort of a hybrid down draft/cross draft booth. There is a plenum on the top which holds the intake filters. The exhaust filters are on the end wall. This booth in is your home shop?
Beautiful color btw!
I decided to refinish my shop before starting the el Camino restoration, so I'd have nice clean, warm place to work.We need some shop pics!
