Sand Through of the Epoxy Primer

When blocking the high build over the Epoxy and you sand through to the metal in a few spots is it necessary to re apply Epoxy to these small spots before more high build?

In theory? yes, is it a must? no. If all you did is scalp a spot to metal no need to worry either way will be fine.

I get this question many times a week and my answer is always, if its a restro to street rod epoxy is a must, if its an insurance job or a normal paint job skip the epoxy.
Last survey showed that 97.7% of the people that had their wreck fixed, did not own that car 3 years from now, so the risk is in your favor.
High dollar jobs, people tend to keep the car a long time.

Thanks. This is my 1968 Coronet that I am restoring not for serious show but for a fun car that I plan to use and own for a long time. Is ok to just do shoot spots where the metal is showing then the high build?

I have to say that your Epoxy Primer is some tough stuff. I have the shell of the car primed and I am working on stripping the undercoating to do a nice job on the underside. The only thing I can find that even touches paint and 45 year old dried out undercoating is Aircraft Stripper. That is some nasty stuff. I overshot some of it in the rocker panel on the Epoxy and it sat there quite some time. When I did clean it off it had not softened your Epoxy at all. Impressive!
