Rebuilding Compressor

Champion Compressor

I was also looking at the champions. But they list thier cfm @125psi vs 175psi so i was wondering if it fell short on the cfm. I was debating on the quincy 80 gallon 5hp with magnetic start or the champion 80 gallon with 7.5 hp for close to the same price. The quincy uses baldor motors and champion uses a.o. smith? Champion does make good compressor but in the 5hp range the quincy ...blew it away...haha

Here's a picture of my OLD Champion. This old dog is a 1956 model, its kind of been in the family for many years. I bought it this year from one of my Mentors - a friend whose garage I grew up hanging around working on VW's.

Its an old horse , it takes a while to build up pressure but actually works!. I didnt use it for running the DA or sand blasting because I was afraid I'd blow it up. I only used it for spraying Paint.

it needs a proper rebuild sometime in the future IF I can locate parts for it. P1000366 (Medium).jpg

i bought my 5 horse in 84. was a rebuild. when we moved to the farm 13 years ago i had it rebuilt again. great compressor but i am going to get a new one . i may change my mind after i move it and plumb it underground. will depend on how much oil vapor it get. moisture is easy to get rid of but oil vapor is another story .
