Is this done to put heat in the panels, or is it to subject it to UV?

What do you do when it is winter & the skys are gray for weeks on end and the outside temp never gets above 20f?

Of course heat helps but the bright UV days will also draw down in winter.

Years ago I worked with a guy on the chevelle forum who had a primer shrinkage problem (not SPI) and he I think was in IN or CHI bit he put out and if I recall after about a week the scratches stopped showing up and I do remember the first day he called that night and said they about doubled in amounts
This was in winter, I do believe, close to but in 30's at the time.

Historically we have 3 sunny days and 4 partially sunny days in the month of December, The other 24 days are gray and overcast, YUK.

November through Feb are almost the same.

Not much chance of getting skin cancer or cured paint here in the winter.
