I’m considering it to strip my truck frame and portions of the cab. I’d still strip the roof with and other large areas with a DA to avoid the risk of warping them. Compared to using my pressure blaster or siphon gun this seems much faster and I wouldn’t need to wear a hood, gloves and respirator. If I used 10 or 20 bags of $8 coal slag, I could live with not recycling as long as it went fairly fast. I already have a good pressure washer too, so I would just need to buy the media wand.

I was concerned about flash rust, but it much of the advice given here is to wash blasted metal with Dawn and water before epoxy prime, so it’s probably going to flash then anyways. I have gotten the impression too that at least some feel that flash rust isn’t an issue and just use 2 or 3 coats of epoxy over it. True?

I may be missing something but it looks like a bunch of potential problems, the way he is doing it.
Id rather use sand then that.
