PPG....well that sucks!

Went to buy a quart of base to do my sons bumper cover and a quarter blend. We only have SW and PPG availalbe in the SF Bay Area - at least to my knowledge. Went to the PPG distributor to find I could only get waterborne, or delfleet SSU or Shopline. What the hell? DCU is apparently not available in the bay area anymore. So $89 later I am the not so proud owner of a quart of Shopline.....ugh.

I don't know much, but in a city the size of SF you ought to be able to find a bunch of jobbers with pretty much every brand under the sun, as long as it's compliant, and nearly every brand has something that is compliant, or water. So saying there is only SW and PPG is almost certainly not right. Maybe in your immediate area there aren't other brands?

You have a lot of choices in San fran.
Go to yellow pages and the next section after Body-shops will list all the paint jobbers in that area.

Lmao, funny they have a return spot at po and its overflowing from people that don't want them, every year when they come out.
Problem finding jobbers is they list them under different heading but always after body shops.
Its been so long dont know if i could figure out how to use a phone book now. Lol

Hawley's in santa rosa carries Chromabase. Its not what I would use but it is different. I believe they sell solvent base if you painting in an area outside of the air district (Healdsburg and North). Another benefit is Healdsburg and north is smog exempt.
