Just had a flashback after reading about the pressurized gun. Did any of you guys ever use a Mattson Atomiser? I used a pair for base and clear for years shooting PPG DBU,DBC base, 2020,2001,2002 clears and really loved the results I got. Very low overspray, very efficient, very even base application, slick clear, but a major PITA to maintain. I had to keep a box of spare everythings. We had a booth that shut the air off if someone opened the door, and with 5 or 6 psi in the cup, it would spray a nice stream down the side of the car really quick. Also happened a couple times stepping on the hose just right. I believe it only had a 1.0 or 1.1 needle but would spray the thicker materials fine by upping the cup pressure from 5, to 6 or 7. Think I still have a couple of these guns and lots of spare parts, but the last time I tried to use one, the high dollar regulator wouldn't work. If one drop of solvent backed up in the tube it was junk. Ah, the good old days!
