Other brands of epoxy

Guys, I recently meet some guys who are both using other brands of epoxy.When I explained what the tech manual states about SPI Epoxy they were both shocked about the recoat window before sanding is required and the max window before you have to spray another coat of epoxy. My question is are SPI guide lines for epoxy the same for other brands?

Nope. Follow only the guidelines of the manufacturer.

Thanks, The guidelines only state after 4 days sand before proceeding.

At 70 degrees F inside .. I've used 3 other brands of epoxy before I started using SPI epoxy. SPI is better all the way around.

There are a 100 ways to make epoxy.
4.1, 2.1, and 1.1.
Some have open times of 4 hours, some 24 hours, so the story's moral is to follow the tech sheet for the product you are using.
