I'm pretty sure nobody has asked about this before. My granddaughters went "mining" for fossils in Montana and found a bunch. They are remnants of fish and stuff that are millions of years old. They are encased in what appears to be limestone which is very soft and dusty. They will deteriorate pretty quickly unless there is some kind of protective coating over them. I'm wondering if a couple of coats of universal clear will work. Would there be any reactions with the lime base?
