I've never seen that message, but it is considered a non-secure site by my Chrome browser. Never had any issues here though.

i have never seen that msg either. i am using chrome. chrome puts the little not secure icon next to the address bar. if your using edge or something else it may react differently and tell you that. i have been on this site since its inception...maybe 15 years ago i guess and never had an issue here. just keep the password different here than anywhere else. of course thats always good advise with any site.

It's simply because the forum is still using HTTP. To use HTTPS a certificate would have to be purchased. Also possible the board software is not set to use HTTPS in the "Board URL" section of the config.

Never got that message logging into SPI. I am using Brave and before that FireFox.
Try clicking the Automatically Log Me in or Keep Me Logged in option. (Can't remember which one it is at the moment.)

Main thing about http and https is that http is unencrypted which means that someone could read your data that you enter. Keep your password much different than other secure sites that you may use such as paypal, ebay etc. If you do that it's really no big deal.

I have sent to Brian as i know just enough to turn on my cell phone.
Brian will be here in an hour or so.

He just replied to me,
SSL chit, a non issure.
He will explain whe he gets here.

It's all been addressed above. this is just a basic web forum, we do not house any personal or financial information on the site. If the site itself were to be hacked the SSL would not be any help. the only real benefit would be if the site was spoofed, ie redirected to another look-alike site. but then that would require the end user to not log in to the site when they get the unsecured connection message. As mentioned before, always keep email and financial passwords separate from things such as web forums, facebook, online merchants, etc.

I use more paper now just to keep track of my passwords then I ever did. Technology is so convenient.

I had prior users that would just write them in permanent marker on back of their keyboard
