Im in Canada so im not able to find any SPI products.

I want to paint these flares bc/cc to match, there's no spots that i can cut a sliver off to see if it floats.Assuming an adhesion promoter should be used?
So plans are to Clean with dawn and an alcohol wax and grease remover, lightly sand say 600 wet, clean again with alcohol, adhesion promoter then Next can I use a high build as thats what I have?Reduced so it sprays flatter its upol system 20. Then sand again 600 and paint. Its Silver Birch Metallic.

Am I on the right track?

Sounds like your plan is good but being a new part no need for a urethane primer
If ABS no need for 600.

Clean 700
Sand
Clean 700
Spray 600 adpro
Epoxy the next day sand numbs if needed and paint.

Ok thanks,Ive painted over used flares before with silver birch metallic,I could see 400 grit scratches ,600 seamed better.
Being new PP maybe I could get away with just a sanding sponge 6-800 prior to adpro then or does it need more tooth?

I always want to use epoxy on bare polypropylene or TPO. Most of these plastics scratch too easily, and when they do, they can leave long, tiny, raised up parts of plastic that that can show up as scratches. Hard to explain exactly. It got to where we had to switch to a dedicated prep paste for TPO and gold pads, even the gray ones were giving us defects. But the main point isn't to give the plastic tooth as much as it is to make sure it's super clean. A lot of OE bare parts come corona treated so they don't need sanding really, but I don't know about aftermarket stuff. If it's not somewhat shiny, it might be corona treated which is good.

Edit: It may or may not be obvious, but I meant adpro then epoxy, just so it's clear to all readers.

Its somewhat shiny, after dry fitting them on ,my finger prints aren't easily wiped off.
I now have time and materials so going to start.I picked up a bronze coloured scotch pad by 3M its pretty fine.

Ill clean, sand, clean again then AP ,epoxy.See what happens.

Thanks.

All the paint systems I have used have had the same procedure for bare plastic prep.

Clean with soap and water, then clean with waterborne degreaser, scuff with gray pad, clean with waterborne degreaser, adpro, sealer then paint. If I get any scratches from the scuff pad I sand them out of the sealer.

What you have should be fine. I have not tried that so cannot give any advice.

Where in Canada are you? I'm just outside Toronto.
