Moisture pimples?

So I have had this issue with spi 2K sealer. So just to make sure it wasn't a product issue, I sprayed another brand sealer over the weekend and I had the same effect. My phone camera kind of sucks, but its basically just like small dust nibs all over the parts. The only thing that makes me think its not dust is that it is pretty even around all the parts. Just looks gritty.

My desiccant/filter system is way over due for some attention, maybe I should start there!

From a few feet away it looks smooth, but when you get close you can see all the small gritty specs.

Im dont have access to a computer, and I tried everything to blow up and see what you're talking about, and I can't see a thing on my cell phone.
If both brand did it, look at the moisture coming from the hose.
Or a wet floor with a 1.3 tip and high humidity.

Ya the pics really don't show anything. I think I just attached them to show from the distance it looks great, but the specs are so fine and even distributed. Humidity was sitting around 30% and no wet floor with the carpet. I'm going to cleanout my filters and go from there.

I have a motoguard filter as my last defense. Ill pull that filter when I get home and that will be a tell all if water of any kind is getting by.

Ya mine was pretty clean. In fact everything was clean. The beads did need replacement, but nothing near as bad as I have let them go in the past.

This was after over a year. The dirt is from the inside of the desiccant can because a screen is ripped and its rusty in there(it needs to be replaced) The motorguard is just a last defense against it. I'd love an air dryer, but funds are low and I still gotta paint. There is zero water getting into my line.

I am going to prime up some junk parts maybe this weekend and test some things with the cleaners. I don't worry about little setbacks on small parts, I just have a complete that Ill be doing in a few weeks that I don't need any problems on.

I did get to test the indasa sanding sponges when sanding the basecoat to get rid of these very small nibs and I must say they were very nice!

those motorguard filters corrode like crazy on the inside. never liked those things
I’ve heard that. A lot of people take the bowl off when not in use. Seems like water should be more under control before it hits a motorguard. Maybe coat them with spi epoxy! Haha.

yeah, i think its way worse when someone replaces the filter with toilet paper. i think toilet paper has something in it, salts, etc from the processing that when it gets wet and just sits on the aluminum for long periods it just corrodes like crazy.

i use cheap toilet paper in mine. just take it out when your done spraying. leaving anything in it will promote corrosion but if epoxied it's not a problem.

I ended up bead blasting mine. No time to recoat it but when I get the chance I'll give it a good coat of spi black epoxy ...after blasting again of course.
