Sorry except for name a lot of bs was feed to you.
You liked the tech base, ever sprayed probase plus? Yep
I'm sorry my cell phone is taking away and changing words.
No nothing to do with ms.
U-tech was not a heavy polyester.
Have you tried auto base plus?
Wounder if it smells like old u-tech?
Yes on the prospray, if I bought a base line that would be the one.
Does Akzo Nobel no longer make UTech polyurethane? I used some a few years ago and liked it, smells exactly like vintage Imron (but not as tough)! Was Wanda made as a replacement? Just wondering.
@Bartman
So are you satisfied still with it? Re-reading this it seems almost too good to be true if it's similar to Glasurit and Diamont. Like you those have long been two of my favorites. What about Distributors/Jobbers. I'm assuming there aren't any other than the place in New Jersey that imports it? Do you get your toners through the mail. Also who did you contact about getting the Mixing system into your Shop?
We actually have a Promax distributor less than 5 minutes away, and being in Chicago, you would think there would be more paint suppliers than there are. The 5 different brand including Wanda is not far in the other direction from home, just no parking and you walk into a store from 1960. Creaking hardwood floors, space heaters hanging overhead. We tried the sherwin williams for the red on the jimmy, just terrible match.
Anyway, we got the quart of Mipa in that tough GM Pewter for the Trailblazer we rewired for our winter use. I say tough because in bright sun its silver, overcast to dusk its gold. We fixed it so good mechanically now we have to do body work. Just had a stuck tailgate so the rear panel was ripped off, and the spoiler does not hold the third brake lite and a gas door replacement. 136 for a quart was a tough pill to swallow considering I usually get a gallon or more for that, but I guess I learned a lesson on you get what you pay for. Reading thru the search for Mipa, if that is cheaper, I guess I am glad I never tried the expensive stuff before. He said he will get us around 350 for a gallon if we do the camaro in the dark blue metallic over the winter again.
Chris, im spraying mipa already for 5 years. i even had their mixing rack for couple years. the pricing is best, around 70$ a quart for cheap colors and 130$ is most expensive i had. coverage is meh, i would say same as a omni plus, and color match sometimes dead on and sometimes is far off(pw7 chrysler) but if i had to get any mixing rack in my shop, that would be mipa.@Bartman
