With much appreciation for all the personalized service, which is getting hard to find these days. My opinion of the SPI products is absolutely " second to none ". I finished this 1955 T-Bird about a year ago for a customer and nearly everyone that has seen it, compliments on the paint. I followed "the perfect paint job" criteria. About a month ago, had a call from a guy that saw it at a car show and said "....you don't know me, but I just wanted to let you know that is the prettiest paint I have ever seen"...... Never had that happen before, but thats a great compliment to your products. For the last 20 years have been a Sikkens user and have restored approximately 140 complete strip to metal/refinish over the last 40 years. Never heard feedback to this extent from customers before on paint/clear.
Anyway, the owners of this T-Bird took it to the big International Thunderbird show in Memphis last August and came away with one of the top ten gold medallions that were given at the show. owners weren't expecting to win anything but of course totallly thrilled when their name was called at the awards banquet.

So here are a few pictures in process of the T-Bird and I also wrapped up another restoration in the last year of a 1970 Hemi Challenger. I will post some pics of that on another thread. It has not been re-assembled yet as the customer is tackling that step.

That is beautiful work metalformer.. Welcome aboard the SPI site.. We are always glad to have Pro's like yourself here to share and teach us all.. I also see another person who has fallen in love with SPI.. Ive said this soo many times I cant count.. Ive yet to turn someone on to the SPI line of products that did not like them!!
 
Thanks for the kind compliments. Bondoking - thats what I love about this business, we are always learning new things or ways to do things faster and/or better.

What is the story on the one picture with the room full of 55-57's? Indoor car show or a collection?

Barry, that was at the 2012 CTCI classic thunderbird meet in Memphis. From what I was told the largest gathering of T-Birds ever. Heard there were 220 Birds there and 90 of those were in the concours judging which this car was involved in. I personally don,t get involved in the car show scene/judging -just try to deliver to the customer what they are trying to build example nice driver or show winner,etc.. And since I have been using Spi products I have found it much easier to achieve that "beautiful finish". Seems like I spend a lot less time clear sanding and polishing. So far mostly I have used the universal and euro clear but have had Spi prod clear on my shelf for awhile, just need to crack it open and try it. No doubt that I will love it just like every Spi product I have used.
