I just recieved my order of epoxy and 2k high build primer. I'm working on the truck bed at this moment getting all the panels flat. My plan:
- sand the complete bed with 80 grit
- wipe it all down with the waterborne wax & grease remover
- the next day run a tac cloth over it
- spray 2 coats of black epoxy, waiting 30 min between coats
- after the last coat of epoxy wait 60 min and then spray a coat of grey high build, wait 15 min, spray a second coat. Should I spray a third?
- after the last coat of high build, wait 30-45 min and spray a mist coat of reduced or straight black epoxy (for a guide coat).
- the next day or so start block sanding off the black epoxy guide coat.
Its going to be a few months before I base coat/clear coat, what should I spray last for this sitting period, leave it at the final sanding of the high build or should I spray it with some more epoxy. It will be sitting in the garage.
