The tech line has a lot of value to me as well as the customer, so just a couple of concerns here.
As of today I have had 3 calls with fish-eye problems, 2 in clear and one with epoxy.
One of the clears we tested and it was the tack rag, the epoxy yesterday we tested and isolated it to the tack rag, today's call, fist question from me is did you tack your base and what tack rag? Chrystal in all three cases. May be an issue here??? I use the Blue professional one and have for years but any could slip up on a batch.
A real high quality shop that does only restorations, for last 30 days we have been fighting fish-eyes in the clear and SS, finally he said could the naked gun cleaner be the problem, so had him put urethane reducer in gun and let set over weekend, shook gun and sprayed , put more in and sprayed., Clear sprayed great for a couple of panels, then bingo did it again.
Told him to throw the stuff away and use his old gun, no problem, so he calls me today as his new Iwata LPH 400 he decided to take apart and clean good so he could use again, low and behold it is totally corroded inside, no doubt from one of the virgin solvents in the mix. (lol) Only an acid can corrode a gun.
He said gun is trash but I gave him something to try and see if we can save.
Don't know what is what as far as above but worth being aware of if you have a problem.
