Is there a MAX temp when spraying epoxy primer?

If all goes well, I am going to spray my underside and firewall with black SPI epoxy primer during Labor Day weekend down here in steamy Houston, TX. I read the spec sheet and it mentions a MINIMUM temperature but I did not see a MAXIMUM temp. Is there one?

If it sizzles and smokes when it hits the surface...that's too hot :).
I put it on at 95 without much trouble but I see your having a heat problem down there. Does it cool down a night?

Heat should not be much of an issue with epoxy as it most likely helps then hurts it, way different the the other products.

If you should get some dry over spray, you could lower air pressure 2-5 lbs and/or add just 2oz of a slow reducer per mix quart.

Thanks guys. We are in a heat wave now but it should get into the "chilly" low-to-mid 90s in early September when I plan on spraying the epoxy.

Perhaps a more relevant question would have been what to add, if anything, to the epoxy primer under certain higher temps. Barry addressed that.

What brand(s) of slow reducer would be acceptable to use?

76, you can use any good grade urethane reducer, like Basf, PPG, Dupont main grades, just DON'T use their lower grade brands, because that is when you will call me with problem.

OH, I know the jobber will say but the Omni is the same as the DT, if that is the case he will be happy to open a gallon of both, so you can smell and see real quick, that is not even close to being true.

I am going to try spraying w/o any slow reducer as I expect the temp to decrease a bit in the next few weeks. I'll check for any dry over spray and adapt as needed.
