Ground Coat

Guys, I'm wondering if I have enough base for my current project. I know I have enough for two coats but the color does not hide well and needs at least 3 coats.

Anyway is there anything wrong using another brand base, same color as a ground coat, wait a few hours, denib, then spray my final 2 coats? Thanks. Russ
 
I'd avoid putting a converted enamel base under a polyester base, but if Barry says it OK, I guess it might be.
