Gouges on Bare Metal

Bob's advice is good, especially if yo have a lot of experience applying sanding large areas of filler, but the epoxy can do a lot if you'll give it a chance. You may want to try to block it out with 180 like shine says and put 2 more coats of epoxy in it. After that you can break out the filler to fix waves, dings, and fill any of the deeper gouges that still exist.

I've fixed a lot of stuff like that with epoxy only, but it may take several applications. I trust the epoxy more than anything else for this kind of work, but it's slow going because of the dry time and the fact that the epoxy isn't a high build primer. Hang in there and be patient, and you will be rewarded!

DAM! some of those on the body line look deep, .030 would be my guesstimate. Either that or the picture amplifies the appearance?

The buick we are doing in the shop is covered with deep scratches in the metal like this one. It may even be worse.
