Finally got our ‘71 Karmann Ghia convertible painted this week. Finished yesterday. This car is a gift to my 18 yr old daughter…a piece of me for when I’m no longer which I hope is a long time from now…I still have other projects on the back burner. LOL! And yes she can drive a manual. :). All SPI products except for the base (Shopline) which is a VW L80E Light Ivory. It’s been a minute since I’ve painted but really pleased with the outcome! Had a learning curve coming from KY and now living in FL with the heat and humidity. I used very slow activator and very slow reducer. The gun is a Sagola 4600 Xtreme. Used a 1.3 with their HVLP Clear cap. Special thanks to Barry for his superb products and the guys on this forum! Best ever! Thank you!

Nice Job, I have one just like it (1970 Vert) in bare metal about ready to start paint and bodywork.

I have a few questions.
- Where in FL? I am in S Jacksonville.
- Did you spray inside and out or just the exterior?
- What were your material quantities? (Epoxy, Base, Clear, Etc.)

Cheers,
Emil

Thanks! I’m in Ormond Beach. I sprayed both inside and out on everything so I basically bought two gals. of everything just in case. Including one gal. of white epoxy for the sealer. I have other projects coming up so the only thing I might lose on is the base. I might have 1/2 gal left over I think but I still have some small items to paint yet…glove box door, fuel door, etc.
