Epoxy primer questions

I'm repainting my motorcycle. I'm planning to strip the paint off the tank with some kind of spray on paint remover like Klean-Strip® Aircraft® - Paint Remover. I just read in "what every new painter should read" (and I'm brand new) to never use a metal prep or acid etch primer. I assume this paint stripper must have some kind of acid in it to remove the old paint. Is this going to be a problem if I'm using your epoxy primer? And another question.....does the epoxy primer have to be covered with one of your 2K primers or can I spray the color coat directly on top of it if the surface looks smooth enough?

For the paint stripper just clean with water and dry, can be same day or week later, does not matter.
Buzz tank with 80 grit, wash with 700, dry and let set 30 minutes and then shoot epoxy.

You can shoot directly over the epoxy, no need for other primers.
Just follow the directions on the TDS for the epoxy.
That is one of the great things with Barry's epoxy, it is easy to sand, builds good, blocks great, sticks like glue :) and you can use it for primer, sealer, and go directly to color without any other products used.

Especially with something like a motorcycle tank where you probably don't have a lot of imperfections or body work, SPI epoxy works great as a surfacer. I rarely use anything else, even if there is a lot of body work.

Thanks, guys. The tank is in no need of body work, just has worn out paint, so the epoxy sealer sounds like the way to go.
