Epoxy Prime the Dash?

Would you guys shoot a reduced coat of epoxy primer on the dash before I shoot some Nason (yes I know) SS on the convertible Darts Dash?

Why would you reduce it?

John
So I can shoot the paint soon after. I struggled with full strength and Motobase on the daughters Duster. It crazed and the consensus was the full strength epoxy needed to set much longer than the window for not having to scotch bright it (Chad says he waits weeks then shoots a reduced single coat and then Motobase the next day). Just don't want to repeat that nightmare.

Is the dash so good it needs no blocking or sanding? Reduced epoxy is going to do nothing for you except possibly increase adhesion or maybe improve coverage but but I don't see either of those being an issue on the dash. Two coats of epoxy, sanded, would really make the dash slick and could be top coated the next day.

I am not looking for perfection in the dash, I am looking for more of the factory appearance (you can see the spot welds dimples, etc) so I am not wanting to block it flat. I am just looking for adhesion and durability.

I get calls on this subject once a week.
My flat answer is one wet coat (min) and shoot paint the next day.
Two coats if you want to smooth out the next day for trash etc.
