Epoxy over Galvanealed panels?

I just ordered some more epoxy primer for some cab corner work on my truck, but the patch panels I have are suppose to be Galvanealed (spelling??) metal. It's not the black e-coating.

Question is, can this be primed with epoxy? Does it need to be sanded with 80 grit like regular steel? (would kind of defeat the purpose of the galvaneal coating). Any special prep considerations?

Just wash with 700-1, dry and Hand-sand with 180, wash again, let set for an hour and shoot two wet coats of epoxy.
