Emblem adheasive on fresh clear?

OK Guys I am starting to Wet sand and buff this fresh clear.

I am dying to start putting some emblems on with 3m 08061 emblem adhesive.

Do I have to wait the full 90 days before I can put any of the emblems on?

I can't speak for others but my experience is NO, you can't use it on fresh clear.
I put the emblems on a F250 after a 2-3 day wait (SPI production clear) with some time in the sun and the 08061 blistered the paint all the way to the primer coat and the emblem slid down the front fender.
I now use the double sided adhesive tape instead.

Damn glad I asked!

I think I will go with double stick tape then.

Should I wait 90 days for it also?

We have a lot of shops that do, it next day and i have myself done, it the next day.
I usually use the 3m black or yellow and think I alos have a tube of norton black laying around also.

Do you remember what product you used so I can test?

Barry,
It was the 08061 Plastic Trim and Emblem Adhesive recommended by my local jobber.
Wish I had taken pictures for you but basically I found the stuff very "loose" and wanting to drip/run easily. I had a bad feeling about this stuff even when applying it.
I put a small amount on each V10 emblem on the truck and on the F250 Super Duty emblems that had locating pins. The V10 emblems were taped in place and when I came back later to remove the tape I found the paint had softened and blistered all the way to the primer and emblems had slid down some. The emblems with the locating pins stayed on but I could see when I looked close that there was some bubbling of the paint along the very bottom edge of the emblem that appeared to have re-hardened.

Bingo! I have never used it but years ago Tremco (now Transtar)
Came out with a copy of that product called either "all in one" or "only one" and yes I and other companies, had a bad experience with that product attacking fresh paint.

The only glue type product I have ever used that will not ever attack paint is Würth rubber glue. It works for emblems where the double back tape is intact, but the proper way to re-install an emblem is to replace the double back tape completely.

I have used that glue, but I put it on my finger and lightly put it on, then apply the emblem, i tape it in place for security and leave it taped over night. I haven't had a issue like that, but when you go to take the emblem off for a repair I have seen it take pieces of paint with it. It is a very aggressive adhesive, use sparingly

I used the 3M emblem adhesive on PPG clear with no problems,I just followed the directions on the packaging.
Light even application on emblem, touch to body, pull back, wait for tack off, reposition and tape for 30 minutes.
Much like using contact cement .
Maybe I was lucky, I know I was too lazy to try and trim adhesive tape to fit those individual little letters Ford used on the Focus.
