Dust Nibs

Toms 57 Chevy

Well I have started to do a little painting. I am spraying Prospray silver base. I have painted the fender wells , splash pan and under the hood. It all looks good except some dust that came from my pastic tarp on the floor. My question how do get rid of these. Do I sand out with maybe 1500 wet and reshoot? I have not sprayed any clear yet.

Barry, when sanding nibs in base don't you recommend using wax and grease remover instead of water?

If you use Norton Blue Sheeting or similiar instead of regular plastic you wont get the paint flaking problem.
I have put it on the floor a number of times. I buy the 12ft x 400 ft roll for about $32 locally.

You can use a solvent type and normally this is done in production shops where you have a small screw up and need to get it done (not for major sanding)
Reason is while you are there watching the base dry, taking some w&G to the sand paper allows you to wet sand the base in about 1/2 the time as if you do it with water.
Good call AAE but in this case it is not advised.
