About 3-4 weeks ago I posted a message about clear coat and dry spots, I also posted one regarding buffers. Well I purchased a Makita buffer and sprayed 4 coats of SPI clear on my porsche 356. This is the first time i have ever sprayed clear coat and buffed a car. Needless to say that after many hours of wet sanding the clear, first the original 3 coats I put on the car and then the 4 additional coats after I sanded out all the trash in the clear I was ready to wet sand the 4 coats. After snading those 4 coats I took Barrys advise from a previous post regarding using Presta compound and presta polish, I am happy with the results.
I now know how much time it takes you Pros out there to do a car and the next time i hear someone say thety don't know why it costs so much to paint a car I can fill them in.
Attached are some pics of my 356 and the model a Ford in one of the pics has been cleared and is awaiting wet sanding and buffing.
Thanks everybody for your help.
